EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Firmly convinced that education in film and image can have a real impact—both in the short and long term—on raising awareness, stimulating curiosity, and strengthening social bonds, Alcimé, the association behind the MCM, carries out in-depth work throughout the year with schools and educational institutions across the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Designed for all young people, regardless of their background or environment, these initiatives aim to transmit, inspire, and empower. Drawing on the richness of cinema and music for the screen, the MCM develops innovative, inclusive programs rooted in contemporary issues, highlighting cultural diversity, creativity, and openness to Europe.
Discover the different film-education programs offered as part of the 27th edition of the MCM, taking place from March 30 to April 4, 2026, designed for teachers (middle and high schools) and their students. Short films and educational workshops are offered to give young audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of cinema, explore the various professions involved in filmmaking, broaden their film culture, and sharpen their critical eye.

PRESCHOOLERS
Every morning from March 30 to April 3 at 9:30 am, the Festival international Music & Cinema Marseille invites its youngest audiences (ages 3–6) to discover Nous voilà grands!, a program specially designed for early childhood.
Following Qui voilà? and Coucou nous voilà!, Nounourse, Lapinou, and their friends—now parents themselves—return to share the joys and emotions of everyday life with their children. Through eight tender and poetic short films by Stina Wirsén and Linda Hambäck, with an original score by Pompe Hedengren, the program gently explores friendship, animals, and growing independence.

WORKSHOPS
During the 27th edition of the MCM, workshops will be offered every afternoon from March 30 to April 3, 2026. Their educational goals: knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, and creativity.
Écriture filmique (FR)
An introduction to screenwriting: students analyze short scripts on current topics, then write their own short scenes to develop creativity and critical thinking.
Mise en musique (FR)
Led by composer Thibault Cohade, this workshop explores the relationship between music and image. Using film excerpts, students study the narrative and emotional role of music in cinema.
Graphinéma (FR)
Designed by the Jaune Sardine collective, this workshop lets students recreate a poster for a short film they’ve seen, imagine a new MCM poster, or design their own festival poster.
MÉTIERS DU CINÉMA (FR)
A hands-on introduction to cinema combining interactive theory and practical experience on a recreated film set. Students discover different film professions, handle professional equipment, and direct short scenes with a filmmaker.
Rencontre pros (FR)
Encounters with professionals—composers, directors, producers, and jury members—giving students the chance to exchange with creative figures from the world of film and music for the screen.
To make our projects more accessible to both students and teachers, Alcimé is a partner of the Pass Culture program run by the Ministry of Culture, the Carte Collégien program supported by the regional government, and the Lycéens et apprentis au cinéma scheme.
