Let's start the week with the French premiere of Dissidente, by Pier-Philippe Chevigny, followed by a short discussion with the director.

Pier-Philippe Chevigny - Réalisateur

Pier-Philippe Chevigny is a director, screenwriter and editor based in Montreal, Quebec.  In recent years, his short films have attracted international attention, including Tala (2013, acquired by the European channel ARTE) and Vétérane (2017, Mecal Pro Barcelona, International Short Film Festival Winterthur).

His latest short film, Rebel, is enjoying worldwide success: after a remarkable premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019, the film collected over 100 selections, 28 awards and qualified for the Best Short Film Oscar race.

In summer 2021, he will shoot Dissidente, a feature-length fiction project developed at the TIFF Filmmaker Lab and supported by the Berlinale Co-Production Market.
