INTERNATIONAL MARKET FOR FILM MUSIC COMPOSITION|3RD CHARACTER

CALL FOR PROJECTS

Created in 2010 with the support of Sacem and the CNC, the International Market for Film Music Composition will be held on April 2–3, 2026, during the Festival international Music & Cinema Marseille (MCM) (March 30 – April 4, 2026).

This market brings together producers, directors, and composers around international projects — short films, feature films, and TV series — all seeking a composer to create the original score for their work. It offers the ideal conditions for directors, producers, and composers to connect and pair original music with a cinematographic project.

BEFOREHAND

The market is organized around a call for projects — short films, feature films, and TV series, both French and international — as well as a dedicated call for composers.

Each producer/director duo will submit a project (short film, feature film, or TV series) that they are committed to producing. One month prior to the MCM, the script and musical statement of intent will be sent to the composers selected to participate in the market.

Composers will then have three weeks to work on musical excerpts, which they will present to the duos during one-on-one meetings held at the Festival.

THE PROCESS

During the Festival, producers and directors will meet with each composer in individual interviews to assess the artistic qualities of their musical proposals. Composers will be invited to defend their creations and convince the duos of their vision and suitability for collaboration.

At the end of these meetings, each duo will decide whether to pursue a future collaboration with one of the composers.

Each producer/director duo will meet with up to five composers. Meetings will each last a maximum of 60 minutes, and will take place on Thursday, April 2nd, and Friday, April 3rd, 2026.
