INTERNATIONAL MARKET FOR FILM MUSIC COMPOSITION|3RD CHARACTER

CALL FOR COMPOSERS

The Market for Film Music Composition (3rd Character) will take place on Thursday, April 2nd and Friday, April 3rd, 2026, as part of the MCM.

Organised with the aim of supporting original music creation for screen, the Market for Film Music Composition offers selected composers the opportunity to take part in one-on-one meetings with producers and filmmakers. These producer-director teams are developing short films, feature films, or series, and are actively seeking a composer to write the original score.

BEFOREHAND

The Market is organised around two calls: one for projects (short films, feature films, and series, both French and international), and one for composer applications.

Each producer-director duo must submit a short film, feature film or series they are committed to producing. The screenplay and a musical brief will be shared with the selected composers one month before the Festival.

Composers will then have three weeks to work on musical excerpts, which they will present to the duos during one-on-one meetings held at the Festival.

THE PROCESS

During the Festival, producers and filmmakers will meet with composers in one-on-one sessions to assess the artistic quality of the musical proposals. It will be up to the composers to convince them to initiate a collaboration.

Following these individual meetings, each producer-director duo will decide whether to pursue a potential collaboration with one of the composers by entrusting them with the original score for their project.

Each meeting will last a maximum of one hour. The sessions will take place on Thursday, April 2nd, and Friday, April 3rd, 2026.
