CONFERENCES
Each year, the Festival offers conferences focused on the interaction between music and cinema. These gatherings provide professionals and enthusiasts with the opportunity to explore various aspects of audiovisual creation, such as musical composition for the screen, the close relationship between directing and composing, and technological innovations in the field. By bringing together renowned experts and emerging talents, the MCM conferences have become an essential event for understanding industry developments and enriching artistic practice.
To ensure that as many people as possible can attend, all of these events are free and open to the public. We nevertheless recommend arriving early to secure a seat.

MUSIC AND EDITING: CAN AI SPEAK TO THE HEART?
The essential relationship between musical creation and film editing is often the moment when a film’s heart begins to beat. Can AI become an ally in what sometimes feels like a revelation? If so, how? To explore these questions and examine new avenues for research and creative practice, five experimental films will be presented, created by composer–editor duos during a workshop led by La Satis and supervised by industry professionals.
This project received State funding managed by the French National Research Agency under the France 2030 program (reference ANR-23-PEIC-0001).
Moderated by Fred Martin (composer, musician, producer – Studio Ferber Paris), with Jean-Louis Hennequin (composer, musician, filmmaker and AI researcher), Audrey Ismaël (composer, musician, singer), Alexandre Auque (editor, filmmaker), Javier Elipe and Isabel Castro (lecturers-researchers, Satis/AMU/PRISM), Richard Kronland-Martinet (Research Director, PRISM/CNRS/AMU, director of the “Harmonie” project), Jacques Sapiega (President of Alcimé, Emeritus lecturer-researcher – AMU/PRISM), and Sofiane Mehelleb, specialist in AI integration in the audiovisual field (CEO, Armonai Studio IA).
