Accumulant les abus d'un ex-copain pervers narcissique et d'une supérieure condescendante, une jeune mère monoparentale travaillant pour Loto-Gold est envoyée au fin fond de nulle part pour interviewer un étrange ermite. L'intransigeant nouveau millionnaire sera celui qui la poussera finalement à bout de manière spectaculaire après qu'elle ait enfoncé accidentellement sa voiture dans un arbre devant son chalet isolé, instiguant les événements d’une journée absurdement merdique pour les deux.

Drowning under the abuses of her narcissist ex-husband and a condescending Lotto-Gold superior, a young single mother on the brink of a mental breakdown is sent to the middle of nowhere to interview a strange hermit. The uncooperative man who just won the jackpot will be the one to push her over the edge in quite spectacular fashion when she accidentally rams her car into a tree in front of his isolated cabin, setting up the events of an absurdly crappy day for both of them.

Kevin T. Landry est un réalisateur, scénariste et monteur passionné par l’absurde, la solitude et la ligne mince séparant l’imaginaire de la réalité́. Il compte une quinzaine de courts métrages à son actif qui ont voyagé partout dans le monde et remporté plusieurs prix. En tant que membre du collectif Kino Montréal, il a co-écrit et co-réalisé le long métrage Première vague. Jour de merde, son premier long-métrage en solo, a été lancé en mars 2023 aux Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma où il a remporté le prestigieux prix Gilles-Carle du meilleur premier ou deuxième long métrage de fiction.

Kevin T. Landry is a director, screenwriter and editor passionate about the absurd, the loneliness and the thin line between imagination and reality. He has directed fifteen short films that have travelled the world and won several awards. As a member of the Kino Montréal collective, he has co-written and co-directed the feature film Première vague. Jour de merde, his first solo feature film, was launched in March 2023 at the Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma where he won the prestigious Gilles-Carle prize for best first or second feature fiction film.

Éloi Ragot

Éloi Ragot est un compositeur franco-allemand utilisant diverses techniques de jeu ou d'enregistrement et mêlant sons et instruments électroniques et acoustiques afin de créer des textures et paysages sonores uniques. Il compose la musique originale des séries La Trêve (Netflix), Invisible (RTBF), Women of the Night (co-composé avec Hannes de Maeyer, Netflix), The Window (ZDF/Streamz) et Des gens bien (Arte). Il travaille également sur plusieurs longs métrages dont les films canadiens Reservoir et Jour de merde. Pianiste et guitariste autodidacte, il apprend la trompette au Conservatoire puis suit des cours d'analyse et d'écriture musicale. Il joue tout d'abord dans diverses formations musicales avant de composer pour un premier court métrage en 2008. Éloi est lauréat de plusieurs résidences d'artistes, dont la Master Class de composition musicale pour l’image du MCM dirigée par le compositeur Jean-Michel Bernard ainsi que les prestigieux programmes Émergence et Berlinale Talent en 2017.

Éloi Ragot is a Franco-German composer using many different playing and recording techniques to create unique textures and soundscapes. He has notably composed the original music for the series La Trêve (Netflix), Invisible (RTBF), Women of the Night (co-composed with Hannes de Maeyer, Netflix), The Window (ZDF/Streamz) and Des gens Bien (Arte). He has also worked on several feature films, including the Canadian films Reservoir and Jour de merde. A self-taught pianist and guitarist, he learned the trumpet at the Conservatory and then took courses in musical analysis and writing. He first played in various musical formations before composing for his first short film in 2008. Eloi has been awarded several masterclasses and artist residencies, including the Master Class led by the composer Jean-Michel Bernard as part of the MCM as well as the prestigious Emergence and Berlinale Talent programs in 2017.
