La Résidence du Sud is a screenwriting support program dedicated to French-language short fiction films. It is led by the associations Héliotrope (Un Festival c’est Trop Court! – Nice), Regard Indépendant, the Rencontres Cinématographiques d’Aix-en-Provence (Festival Tous Courts – Aix-en-Provence), and Alcimé (Festival international Music & Cinema Marseille).
Designed to support the emergence of distinctive voices, the residency primarily targets young writers developing well-structured and authentic projects. Four participants benefit from a nine-month personalized program that combines writing time, mentorship, and immersion in the regional professional network, in close collaboration with the three partner festivals.
