Steven Price

Composer Steven Price is invited to the 27th edition of the Festival international Music & Cinema Marseille as a guest of honour to reflect on his work on Gravity and Last Night in Soho.


Steven Price is an Oscar-winning film composer, renowned for a distinctive, story-driven approach. From Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity to Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, his deeply personal scores enhance the filmmakers’ visuals.

He began in the late 1990s working on The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Batman Begins, before composing his first full soundtrack with Attack the Block. He went on to score Suicide Squad, My Policeman, and the Oscar-nominated animated film Over the Moon.

His work ranges from tank-inspired percussion for Fury to the airy score of The Aeronauts. He has also composed extensively for natural history documentaries, including The Hunt, Our Planet, and David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet.

Steven’s music has been performed at iconic venues worldwide, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. His work has received numerous awards and continues to captivate audiences around the globe.
