Mariam est une fermière qui vit dans un village isolé arménien. Il n'y a aucun homme. Elle attend avec impatience le retour de son mari afin que sa famille soit réunie. Le jour de son anniversaire, elle apprend qu'il ne reviendra pas comme prévu. En parallèle, son amie Anush s’apprête à donner naissance.
Mariam is a farmer, living in a small Armenian village without any man. She is excited for her husband’s return, then her family will be reunited. On her birthday, she finds out that he just canceled his return. That same evening, another event disturbs her : Anush, a young girl from the village, is giving birth.
