Juries members

Actor, director, editor, cinematographer, scriptwriter, sound engineer, sound designer, composer, producer, distributor... They are all professionals or/and celebrities who have the honour to award the prize of the Music & Cinema - Festival International du Film à Marseille.

For the 23rd edition, you will find the short film jury and the feature film jury, each composed of 4 personalities.

Short Film Jury

Julie Roué

Julie Roué never could choose, this is why she became a film music composer. Although her first interest was in Celtic music, her universe is now tinged with baroque, jazz, experimental and electronic music, with a strong pop influence.

When Léonor Serraille entrusts her with the score for her movie Jeune femme (Caméra d’Or in Cannes 2017), Julie Roué puts her sound mixing activity aside to dedicate herself entirely to music. Quickly, the movies Perdrix by Erwan Le Duc in 2019, then Fragile by Emma Benestan, Cigare au miel by Kamir Aïnouz and Une femme du monde by Cécile Ducrocq in 2021 follow, as well as the series HP and Parlement.

Founding member of the Troisième Autrice Collective for women’s visibility in music composition for film.

At the same time as her work for pictures, she composes electropop songs (About Luke in 2019 and a new EP in 2022) and forms, along with Angèle Chiodo, the electroclash band Carte Contact.

Jérôme Nunes

On the festival from 4th of April to 9th of April

Born in 1980, Jérôme Nunes attended litterary preparatory classes before studying languages and film theory at Aix-en-Provence and Nottingham universities. He lived in England for 6 years, where he taught and started a PhD project.

As a producer, he created Films de Force Majeure in 2010 with Jean-Laurent Csinidis, president of the company. Together, they received the France Télévisions Young Producer Award 2015/2016.

From 2012 to 2019, he co-organises, with Wim Vanacker, Nisi Masa’s European Short Pitch, which combines a writing workshop and a co-production forum. He acts as a script consultant : WarshatAflam of the Rencontres Internationales des Cinémas Arabes (CNC Talents en courts scheme, since 2016); ShorTS Internatonal Film Festival of Trieste (since 2019)...

He is also a reader for the regional commissions of Ciclic Région Centre (writing and development grant for first and second feature-length fiction films), ALCA Nouvelle Aquitaine (production grant for short fiction films) and for the CNC (pre-production grants).


Jérémie Duvall

Jérémie made his screen debut as a teenager in the TV movie Bas les cœurs by Robin Davis, then played Gérard Lanvin's son in the film Le Fils à Jo, Philippe Guillard's first feature film, which marked his film debut and for which he won the Premiers Rendez-vous prize at the Cabourg Film Festival. He then went on to star with François Cluzet in Mon père est femme de ménage by Saphia Azzeddine. This film leads him to be part of the Revelations of César 2012. He followed this up by starring in the biopic on Michel Drucker for France 2, where Jérémie played him from 16 to 20 years old. The director Thierry Binisti offers him to play in Délit de fuite alongside Éric Cantona & Mathilda May, a TV movie selected at the Festival of TV Fiction, and which gets the Laurier de la télévision Civisme et Grandes Causes. In 2019, Jérémie is back on the big screen in Versus by François Valla, in which he plays the lead role.

Having started acting classes at the age of 8, Jérémie did not forget the boards and had the opportunity to perform on a stage in The Full Monty (musical), then in Un, deux, trois... Soleil! Recently, he wrote and directed his first play Une fille pour deux (A Girl for Two) which will be performed at the Comédie Montorgueil.

At the same time, he writes and directs short films and video clips that are frequently broadcast on television and in festivals.

Marc Marder


Marc Marder, was born in New York, and lives in Paris since 1978. After studying the double bass, he became soloist for the Intercontempary Ensemble from 1978 to 1980 under the direction of Pierre Boulez.

He is the bass soloist of the New-York Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra and becomes a member of the Orchestre National de France under the direction of Leonard Bernstein and Lorin Maazel.

He teaches bass at the Conservatory of Lyon while pursuing a career as a chamber musician. His score for Sidewalk Stories, silent film by Charles Lane won the Deutsche Schallplatten.

Marc Marder has composed music for Rithy Panh’s 24 films and had the honour of accompanying him at Cannes where six of his films were in the Official Selection. L’image manquante, won the Award from Un Certain Regard and was nominated for an Oscar for best Film in a Foreign Language category. He recently composed the original music for Sandrine Kiberlain’s Une jeune fille qui va bien, and Rithy Panh’s Les tombeaux sans noms, Irradiés, and Everything Will Be Ok.


Feature Film Jury

Audrey Estrougo

Audrey Estrougo grew up between Paris and its suburbs. The world of the troubled areas, but from a female perspective, is the subject of her first film Regarde moi released in theaters in 2008.

She was only 23 years old at the time. Although she was very young and had no film training, Audrey was offered a major challenge : directing a musical, Toi, moi, les autres.

Since then, Audrey has been fighting to make rare and committed cinema exist. She directed in 2013, and without any financing, Une histoire banale which deals with the aftermath of rape.

La Taularde, a huis clos in the female penitentiary environment with Sophie Marceau, written after two years of immersion in a prison, is released on the screens in September 2016.

At the same time, Audrey shot her first television series for Arte with Romane Bohringer: Héroïnes in 3 episodes broadcast in February 2017. For five years she worked on her fifth film: Suprêmes the biopic on NTM, released in theaters on November 24th, 2021.

A la folie, her sixth feature film, although it was shot in 2019 will see the light of day in theaters in April 2022.

Coups de cœur


Delphine Mantoulet

Classically trained as a pianist, Delphine Mantoulet developed her taste for electronic music during her stay in London at the English underground label Swan Island between 1998 and 2000. She then worked for Warner Music for the Yellow label and then for the Naïve label.

She met director Tony Gatlif while working on the movie Exils in 2004, which is when she began her career as a composer. Then she went on to compose the soundtracks for Tony Gatlif’s films Transylvania, Liberté, Indignados, Indignez-vous !, Geronimo and was nominated twice for the César award for best film score (Liberté and Exils).

Between 2017 and 2019, she composed the music for the show Lala Bidoum, created by the dancers of Caroline Carlson, signed the soundtrack of the documentary Des Iles et Des Joueurs broadcasted on France Télévision and worked on the music for a series of 30 episodes of Rita Elquessar. In 2020, Delphine recorded in the South of France with Nicolas Reyes (Gipsy King), Karoline Rose Sun and Manero, the music of Tom Medina by Tony Gatlif released in August 2021. She was named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres on October 29th, 2021.

Duet with Tony Gatlif

Born on the occasion of Festival’s 20th anniversary, the “Duets” program shines a light on loyal directors and composers who, with their recurring collaborations, keep dazzling our eyes and making our ears vibrate. 

For its fourth edition, “Duets” welcome two duets : Emmanuelle Bercot and Éric Neveux, as well as Tony Gatlif and Delphine Mantoulet.

Delphine Schmit

- Sur le Festival du 4 au 9 Avril

Delphine Schmit produced a great variety of short films: from fiction - one of them nominated to the Oscars - to animation, to documentaries - including a IDFA Grand Prix - as well as art films and first features such as Nuestras Madres, Caméra d’Or in Cannes 2019. In 2017, she founded Tripode Productions in the South of France with Guillaume Dreyfus in order to develop local authors and open up to international co-productions. Their first productions owed them a special mention in Berlin and Palme d’Or for short films in 2019. 

They just produced four first features: 

  • Vaurien by Peter Dourountzis, officially selected at Cannes in 2020 and in theaters in June 2021. 
  • Les Meilleures by Marion Desseigne Ravel and Une mère by Sylvie Audcoeur, with Karine Viard, will both be released in March 2022. 
  • They are now in the post production phase of L’amour selon Dalva by Emmanuelle Nicot and are preparing Vasilis Kekatos first feature.

Delphine also participates in many different actions and writing residencies. 


Thierry Jousse

- On festival from 4th to 9th April

Thierry Jousse grew up near Nantes in the 1960s. After studying literature, he moved to Paris. In 1988, he started writing for Cahiers du Cinéma. He became editor-in-chief of this magazine in 1991. In 1996, he left the editor-in-chief of Cahiers du Cinéma and began directing short films, before tackling feature films. At the same time, he wrote about music for the Inrockuptibles.

After directing his first feature film, Les Invisibles (2005), he joined France Musique where he produced and hosted several programmes, including Cinéma Song (2011-2015), then Ciné Tempo, broadcast every Saturday on France Musique. During these years, he published several books on cinema, including several monographs (John Cassavetes, David Lynch, Wong Kar-wai) and a collection of texts (Pendant les Travaux, le Cinéma reste ouvert). Since 2012, he has been a regular contributor to the Blow up/Arte website, in the form of carte blanche articles on music in cinema.
