The Festival
With a focus on young cinematographic creation and musical composition for screen, the artistic policy of the Festival is now unique in Europe. Created in 1999, Music & Cinema - Festival International du Film à Marseille (MCM) - named Festival International du Film à Aubagne until 2021- is now recognized among the professional industry, both at a national and international level, as a reference in musical composition for screen. Every year, the Festival presents over 250 movies, welcomes 500 professionals and reaches and audience of more than 25,000.
The festival has four main focuses:
- Support young creators
- Promote cultural diversity through international programs
- Train talents and support them in their creative process
- Create an image education program

The Alcimé Association
Through different projects taking place at local, national and international levels, the Alcimé association aims to promote both cinematographic creation and musical composition for screen to their full diversity and richness.
In order to do so, Alcimé has been working developing four main skills since its creation in1999.
The organization and realization of Music & Cinema - Festival International du Film à Marseille which was, until 2021, Festival International du Film à Aubagne.
Setting up, every year, several projets, meetings and calls for applications in order to help artists such as directors and composers. These plans include a Masterclass for composition, two calls for scenarios (SiRAR and Espace Kiosque), the European Market for film composition, the Music Grant for Original Score, InMics Composers Lab, Kinoscore, and more.
Developing different projects for secondary education students such as screenings and workshops and various cultural projects. The Alcimé association also works on the creation of a Master’s degree for film scoring.
Promoting cultural diversity through the international Third Character program, the exchange of international cinematographic programs and the creation of movie concerts. All these activities being built with the strong intention of being inclusive and making culture accessible to all.
