Cédric Klapisch

- Saturday 1st April - 13h00 - Artplexe 3

Cédric Klapisch celebrates absurdity and realism through films that inevitably charm us. Le Péril jeune, L’Auberge espagnole, Les Poupées russes... The films he directed keep seducing us.

Along with Loïk Dury, a composer with whom he has worked for twenty years, Cédric Klapisch presents Peut-Être, a film released in 1999 and which marks the beginning of a rich collaboration between the two artists. The film takes us to 2000, when Lucie asked Arthur to have a child with her. Anxious, Arthur is transported seventy years later, where he meets an old man, played by Jean-Paul Belmondo, who claims to be his son. A candid and completely eccentric story.

Cédric Klapisch is a French director, screenwriter and producer. After a Hypokhâgne and a Khâgne, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in cinema. At the age of 23, he left for New York to do a Master's degree in the Tisch School of the Arts. Back in France in 1985, he began his career as an electrician on sets and then directed several short films including: In transit and Ce qui me meut, which won numerous awards in festivals. In 1991, he directed his first feature film Riens du tout. Since then, he has directed 14 films. The latest, En Corps, was released last year. He participated in the making of the series Call My Agent! as the artistic director of the first season and directed two episodes. He is currently finalizing the series Greek Salad, a sequel to L'Auberge Espagnole, scheduled for release in the first half of 2023. He has also directed several documentaries about sports personalities, such as Aurélie Dupont danse l'espace d'un instant and L'élévation. He has helped many actors to emerge (Romain Duris, Audrey Tautou, Diane Kruger, François Civil, Camille Cottin etc.).
