Ève Duchemin

Camera in hand, Ève Duchemin finds her cinematographic language as she studies cinema at ENSAS in the 2000s.

Later, she directed and did the direction of photography on documentary portraits. While in Wallonia she filmed the old Borinage miners, pigeon fanciers and the decline of factories (Ghislain and Liliane, couple with pigeons, 2005, Mémoire d'Envol, 2007 and Le Zoo, L'Usine et la Prison, 2006). She then sketches the portrait of an increasingly vulnerable youth in the films Avant que les murs tombent (2009) and L'Âge Adulte (2012 - awarded in Brive, Nyon, Poitiers and Clermont Ferrand in particular).

In 2009, she shot a short fiction film in 16mm, Sac de Nœuds, receiving the Beaumarchais prize and the Le court qui en dit long prize. While preparing the film En Bataille, portrait d'une Directrice de prison, Magritte for Best documentary 2016, Eve Duchemin discovered, with the inmates she works with in workshops, the theme of her first feature film: Temps Mort.
